Kellyanne Conway, one of President Donald Turmp’s longest-serving advisers, is leaving her White House job at the end of the month to focus on her family. Conway, whose official title is counselor to the president, has been close to Trump since she became his third campaign manager in the 2016 race. “I’m leaving the White House,” she wrote on Twitter. “Gratefully & Humbly.” Separately, Conway’s husband, George Conway, said he would be leaving the Lincoln Project, a group of anti-Trump Republicans. “And I’ll be taking a Twitter hiatus,” Conway wrote.

Both Kellyanne and George Conway said they made their decisions to spend more time with family. “We disagree about plenty but we are united on what matters most: the Kids,” Kellyanne Conway wrote. “Our four children are teens and ‘tweens starting a new academic year, in middle school and high school, remotely from home for at least a few months. As millions of parents nationwide know, kids doing school from home´ requires a level of attention and vigilance that is as unusual as these times.”

Kellyanne Conway characterized her time working in the administration as “heady” and “humbling.” And now this latest move as “completely my choice and my voice. In time, I will announce future plans. For now, and for my beloved children, it will be less drama, more mama.”

Their daughter, Claudia, who had gained notoriety on social media lately also said she was taking a step back from public life. “This is becoming way too much so i am taking a mental health break from social media,” she wrote. “No hate to my parents please.”

Kellyanne Conway had reportedly been in discussions with the Trump campaign about a possible position in the president’s reelection effort. But she ultimately said she didn’t want to spend so much time away from her family, according to the Washington Post, which was first to report news of Conway’s departure.
