Harvey Weinstein, the movie mogul whose alleged misconduct triggered a global movement to hold powerful men accountable for sexual harassment, has been convicted on two of the five counts against him in a trial in New York. He was found guilty of criminal sexual act in the first degree and rape in the third degree.

But Weinstein was acquitted on the two most serious charges of predatory sexual assault. The jury, composed of seven men and five women, indicated in making the decision that they did not believe beyond a reasonable doubt that Weinstein had raped Annabella Sciorra, one of six women to testify to Weinstein’s predatory behavior. The jury took five days to reach a verdict.

Weinstein is also facing charges in Los Angeles for separate sexual assault allegations. He is under investigation in Dublin and London as well.
